This project is charged with gathering information from a variety of different areas to help shape and develop needed tools to enhance employment opportunities on WisDOT projects. In order to achieve this, several work teams have been identified to create these resources.
Work Team Commitment (may vary by work team):
- Participate in approximately 2 -4 teleconferences
- Review documents and develop content to provide input/feedback
The work teams are as follows:
Database Development – Works with DWD to identify functionality for the database system to best meet the needs of tribal employment offices, construction industry partners and WisDOT.
TrANS Curriculum Development – Develops culturally tailored curriculum and content to be delivered as part of the TrANS construction training program.
Cultural Awareness Training – Assists in the creation of cultural awareness training designed for tribal representatives and construction industry partners and stakeholders.
Native American Labor Focus Group – Assists with the outreach and recruitment of Native American laborers to participate in a focus group designed to gather individual perspectives of working within the construction industry.
Inter-Tribal Task Force Economic Development Subcommittee – Focuses on business and labor opportunities, resources, and services.
